Jorden Marshall and Sherry Marshall-Bruce opened Cakebread Artisan Bakery in 2006 with a vision to bring the time-honoured European tradition of artisan baking to the Comox Valley.
Sherry's passion for baking began in her childhood at her grandmother, Laura's side. She continued to develop this passion testing recipes from a wide range of sources. Prior to opening Cakebread, Sherry attended the San Francisco Baking Institute, widely regarded as North America's premiere baking school. With her wide range of experience and knowledge she successfully challenged the Red Seal certification examination through Vancouver Island University.
Cakebread Artisan Bakery is located on the main street of downtown Courtenay, in a warm and inviting space that we share with Hot Chocolates.
